HCA New Minimum Wage Announced

HCA announced today it has adopted a minimum wage that is 20-percent higher than current state or federal mandated rates (whichever is higher).

The HCA Minimum Wage, which applies to employees at its affiliated facilities, will ensure HCA minimum wage employees a rate that is higher than the current highest minimum wage wherever they live. (In most areas, that will be $8.70 per hour. For employees in California, the minimum rate will be $9.60. In Colorado, it will be $8.74.)

This is the latest workplace improvement under HCA’s Healthy Work Environment commitments to employees. We are implementing this change to provide additional support for employees who need it most, some of whom work directly with our patients. This improvement is similar to other programs HCA has targeted specifically at workers who qualify financially; programs such as the Employee Health Assistance Fund and employer-paid 401(k) contributions.
